Flowers are the unspoken language of love. They spread positivity, charm and lend visual appeal to wherever they’re placed. Their vibrant colors and unmissable fragrance can enliven even the dullest of spaces, working as a perfect mood enhancer. For plant lovers, flowering plants are an added bonus to their little garden – a product of constant love, care and attention.
So why are some people skeptical about being near them? Let’s bust some common flower myths for you.
1. Don’t keep flowers in your bedroom:
One of the most common myths about flowers is that they shouldn’t be kept in the bedroom because of the fact that plants take in oxygen at night. But that doesn’t mean to say that there will be less oxygen for you! So go ahead, place the prettiest blooms on your bedside table and wake up to nature’s beauty.
2. Flowers aggravate allergies:
True that some allergies are worsened by pollen but that should not stop you from placing your favorite blooms near you. You see, itchy eyes and sneezing are most likely caused by pollen from a tree and not from freshly cut blooms. Besides, there are numerous colorful, heavenly smelling, allergy-friendly flowers to choose from- geraniums, lilies, hydrangeas, etc.
3. A bouquet is incomplete without roses:
While many florists are changing the traditional idea of what bouquets look like, there are still many people who strongly believe that a romantic bouquet is incomplete without red roses. Be it a bridal bouquet or wedding decor, roses seem to be a must. While they do look exceptional, we can’t ignore that large variety of beautiful flowers that make amazing bouquets too. Bouquets made of Dahlias, tulips, ranunculus, hydrangeas, etc add an exotic charm to the overall joyous setting. Step away from stereotypes. Get creative in love!
4. Cactus flowers don’t need water:
This is a complete myth. No plant can survive without water. Cactus is no exception. They do not need too much water but certainly require little water. Most cacti need to be watered at least once a week.
5. You can get all kinds of flowers at any time you want:
This is a big NO. Just like fruits, flowers too are seasonal so before you plan your special occasions with a specific flower in mind, check with your wedding planner or florist to see its availability.
Wish you a flowery day!
